The Bobby Rush Gun Owners Blues

Blues man, turned Congressman, Bobby Rush wants gun owners to sing the blues. He has introduced H.R. 45; Blair Holt Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009. The Bill’s is stated intention is to “To provide for the implementation of a system of licensing for purchasers of certain firearms and for a record of sale system for those firearms, and for other purposes.”

The Bill is named for Blair Holt, a Chicago teen, that was killed by a hand gun on a public bus. The story is in the text of the Bill fails to mention that the gun used was, illegally, in the possession of another teen.

This World Net Daily article,Big Brother’s new target: Tracking of all firearms, lists the following as requirements for a “Blair Holt” license:

“Among the more controversial provisions of the bill are requirements that all handgun owners submit to the federal government a photo, thumb print and mental heath records. Further, the bill would order the attorney general to establish a database of every handgun sale, transfer and owner’s address in America.”

You can read the full text of the Bill here: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=h111-45, and visit Congressman Rush’s web site here:

I have an idea; How about psychological exams for congressmen.
