Grieving owner calls for an end to mandatory microchipping in Los Angeles
A fluffy bundle of life, love, and enthusiasm named Charlie Brown was laid to rest last week, the victim of a microchip implant gone horribly wrong. The long-haired, purebred Chihuahua bled to death in the arms of his distraught owners, Lori and Ed Ginsberg of Agua Dulce, California, just hours after undergoing the controversial chipping procedure.
“I wasn’t in favor of getting Charlie chipped, but it was the law,” said Lori Ginsberg, citing a Los Angeles county ordinance that requires all dog owners to chip their dogs once they reach four months of age. Dog owners who refuse to comply face a $250 fine for the first offense and up to six months in jail for continued non-compliance. “This technology is supposedly so great until it’s your animal that dies,” she said. “I can’t believe Charlie is gone. I’m just beside myself.”

Chip implants are dangerous in a number of ways. The government, and chip manufacturers, have been covering up that they cause cancer.

CASPIAN’s new report, “Microchip-Induced Tumors in Laboratory Rodents and Dogs: A Review of the Literature 1990–2006,”  is a definitive review of research showing a causal link between implanted radio-frequency (RFID) microchip transponders and cancer in laboratory rodents and dogs. It was written in part to correct industry misstatements and misinformation circulating about the studies

If given some thought; it is easy to see why. The chips are activated by radio waves and contain metal. I nearly fell out this week when I saw people with chip implants.

They had them implanted in their right forearms. Why not just stick your arm in a micro wave and get it over with?

  1. Thank you for bringing this issue to the forefront and staying on it. So many people acquiesce to chipping their pets, thinking they are doing a good thing to help make them safe when actually the complete opposite is true. I agonized when I read this article. The people who passed this law in Los Angeles should be ashamed of the horror they are inflicting on those animals as well as those who care for these critters. I hope the people of Los Angeles file a class action lawsuit and get this thing stopped. My heart goes out to Charlie Brown’s owners, as well as to the veterinary staff that was forced to comply with this inhumane law. This is all so horribly shameful.

  2. Next, they will be mandating the micro chipping of humans!
