The Tea Party movement grew out of the Ron Paul Revolution. It was a grass roots movement of angry patriots. Americans that were tired of standing by, watching their liberties, and freedoms, taken away by, out of control, big government.
We had all had it with over regulation, and taxation, from the State, to Federal levels. We had our fill with the un-Patriot Act, the emerging, Fascist police state, and the endless, undeclared wars, on vaguely defined terrorists. In fact, as many of us discovered, the government had defined us, the people, as the terrorists.
Many were fooled into hoping for Change we could believe in. Only to find out that the same political machine really controls both of, the two main, political parties. So, the people, outraged, took to the streets, and protested, at the town hall meetings.
An excerpt, from an article, by William F. Jasper, Tea Party Express Message Rolls Across America, sums it up nicely.
Thousands of Californians from all walks of life — farmers, ranchers, loggers, truckers, manufacturers, and laborers — converged on the California State Capitol on August 28 to express their concerns and show their support for the message of the Tea Party Express nationwide tour. The Obama White House, the Democratic leadership in Congress, and liberal media commentators are trying to marginalize the anti-big government sentiments welling up at Town Hall meetings and tea parties by deriding them as "Astroturf," fronts for the Republican Party. The GOP leadership has indeed been trying to hijack the tea party movement, a phenomenon launched by Congressman Ron Paul’s grass-roots 2008 presidential campaign. However, as the Sacramento gathering demonstrated, rally organizers and attendees alike seem to have equal contempt for the Republican and Democratic politicians who are responsible for the explosion of government growth that is killing our economy and threatening our freedoms.
I chose that portion of the article because it alludes to something that has passed.
The GOP leadership has indeed been trying to hijack the tea party movement, a phenomenon launched by Congressman Ron Paul’s grass-roots 2008 presidential campaign.
Just as, the Obama Administration, has succeeded in hijacking, the antiwar movement, of the political left, the GOP, has succeeded in, hijacking the Tea Parties.
It starts with Glenn Beck’s feigning a conversion, to Libertarianism, and ended this weekend, with Sarah Palin’s speech in Nashville TN.
If you missed it, and have the stomach for it, here it is.
Mrs. Palin begins her speech, by saying, that she is a big supporter of the Tea Party movement. Could this possibly be true?
Sarah Palin supports the Law of the Sea Treaty, which would , give over what is left, of our national sovereignty, to the United Nations.
She says that America is ready for another revolution. Why would someone that supports, the policies, of the establishment elite, be saying that?
She asks, “Do you love your freedoms?” What an insane question, coming from someone, that still, supports the Patriot Act, which took away my freedoms.
I say, “You bet, your sweet ass, I do; if only I still had them.” I was galled, that during her speech, she invoked, the very Constitution, that she, and her party peers, are so willing to trample upon.
She gives a shout out to Scott Brown. He doesn’t have anything to do with Tea Parties. He is just another, Big Government, Liberal wearing the Republican brand name. There is nothing about Scott Brown that suggests fewer taxes, or less government; quite the opposite.
One can know that they are listening to propaganda when things are out of the context of a situation. Throughout the speech, I felt as though, I where listening to George W. Bush in a skirt. My ears perked up, I couldn’t really stand to watch much, when she used the phrase, “Outrageous conspiracy theorists.” A phrase used against the Truther, and Tea Party, movements.
Mrs. Palin demonstrated her gross ignorance when speaking of the underwear bomber. She did do a good job of getting his name right, even if she couldn’t get Rand Paul’s name right, in a following interview. Had the mainstream media interviews of Kurt Haskell reached Wasilla AK, she would know, as well as I, that Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab is a CIA informant, and was helped onto flight 253, by a CIA agent. Especially on this account; she is nothing more than a propagandist for, the Big Bother, police state.
Mrs. Palin’s speech was littered with hypocrisies. She spoke of “The politics of personality,” when she has her own cult of clueless followers. She also spoke of “Generational theft” as if her political party was sinless.
And the Big Kahuna, and most humorous, of hypocrisies; She referred to Barrack Obama as “That charismatic guy with the teleprompter,” all the while she had crib notes on her left hand.
Imagine my surprise, and utter delight, the following day, when I read this article; No Teleprompter Needed! Palin Writes Talking Points on Hand, complete with video, and pictures.
The hand crib notes are complete with editing.
Mrs. Palin said, “We don’t need a leader,” as if she, an establishment propagandist, were ever included.
Well, quite right you are, Mrs. Palin, we don’t need a leader, and we damn sure don’t need the likes of you.
